Applications Are Now Open: For the Transformative 2026 NIH mHealth Training Institute (mHTI)!
The mDOT Center is excited to announce that applications are officially open for the 2026 NIH mHealth Training Institute (mHTI). This premier program is dedicated to developing the next generation of transdisciplinary researchers focused on mobile health (mHealth).
Building on the successes of previous cohorts, the 2026 mHTI is poised to offer a seminal experience for investigators looking to advance impactful, technology-enabled healthcare solutions.
A Unique Hybrid Learning Experience
The 2026 mHTI features a distinctive hybrid learning structure. Scholars will participate in a series of interactive online webinars, culminating in an intensive, in-person institute at UCLA scheduled for June 7–11, 2026.
Participants consistently describe the mHTI as “transformative” and “a seminal experience in my professional development,” specifically praising the collaborative environment, the strong sense of community among scholars, and the exceptional mentorship provided by the faculty.
Cutting-Edge Training and Expert Mentorship
The institute is led by a team of distinguished mHealth experts and NIH Program Officers. The core curriculum is designed to provide hands-on mentorship in critical areas, including:
- The latest research methods
- Analytical tools
- Digital health technologies
The program is ideal for both early-career and established investigators who are seeking to expand their interdisciplinary networks.
Funding, Eligibility, and Priority
The mHTI is a highly selective program, limited to just 25 scholars.
Funding and Fees:
There are no tuition fees for accepted participants. The mHTI is generously supported by the NIH/OBSSR/NIDA training grant 1R25DA038167 and the NIBIB mHealth Center for Discovery, Optimization & Translation of Temporally-Precise Interventions (mDOT). Selected participants will also receive subsidized lodging at the UCLA Luskin Conference Center.
Eligibility and Focus:
While all eligible investigators are encouraged to apply, priority is given to applicants who intend to pursue NIH or NSF grant proposals that promote collaborative, innovative health research.
